NAPA Tea Tuesday – “I am still me”

 

Quality of life and wellbeing from the perspective of a person living with dementia.

 

Join us for afternoon tea  on 20th April at 2.30

‘I am still me’ – Quality of life and wellbeing from the perspective of a person living with dementia. Chris Maddocks and Hilary Woodhead will chat about the importance of seeing the person and discuss the concept of ‘quality of life’.

Biography:

An avid player of squash, badminton and tennis in her youth, representing South Wales schools in the javelin, Chris originally thought she would become a PE teacher. Instead, she joined South Wales Police and spent 30 years in the job, mostly in CID. She also had a five-year secondment to Interpol in London during the 1990s. Chris, latterly worked in law enforcement for the Environment Agency before retiring due to ill health in October 2016. Chris now lives in Eastbourne with her partner Heather and their 2 cats Jay and Molly. Chris has a diagnosis of Vascular Dementia, Parkinson’s disease and Lewy Body Dementia. She is an Ambassador of Alzheimer’s Society, The Lewy Body Society and NAPA. Chris in an active member of The Deep Network.
